Last Time Out For ASU
Despite three consecutive timeouts in an effort to ice the kicker, Dixie State University's Anthony Reyes made good of his 21-yard field goal attempt as time expired to send Adams State University to a 24-21 defeat on Senior Day. The game-winning drive began with 36-seconds remaining as the Trailblazers (5-4, 5-3 RMAC) picked up two big running plays from Dejon Coleman that pinned the Adams State (1-7, 1-7 RMAC) defense inside the red zone. Coleman burst through the middle for an 18-yard gain to the ASU 4-yard line with one second remaining to set up the game-winning field goal.
It was the first time Adams State fell to Dixie State at home. Despite the loss, Adams State still holds a 4-3 record in the all-time series.
About The Orediggers
Colorado Mines owns a 7-2, 6-2 RMAC record which is good enough for second place in the conference. The Orediggers ranks first at the conference level in scoring offense (45.8 points/game) and total offense (566.3 yards/game). The defense is third in scoring defense (27.6 points/game) and fourth in total defense (403.1 yards/game). The offensive unit is under the direction of quarterback Justin Dvorak who ranks first in the RMAC in passing yards per game (379.7). Dvorak often looks to receiver Brody Oliver who possess an RMAC-best 1,197 receiving yards, 61 receptions, and 20 touchdowns.
Last We Met
The Grizzlies fell 52-28 against the Orediggers in the 2015 season finale. Behind 602 yards of total offense, the Orediggers jumped out to a 21-7 first quarter lead. Colorado Mines continued to pile on with 24 points in the second quarter, resulting in a 45-14 CSM lead at the break. The offense-heavy opening half of play concluded with 8 combined touchdowns between the two conference foes. Furthermore, 5 of those scores came through the air.
On their opening possession the Grizzlies were able to find the end zone to tie the game at 7-7, however, ASU was unable to keep pace with CSM's third-ranked offensive unit in the country.
Reynolds For 6!
Demari Reynolds celebrated last Saturday's Senior Day in proper fashion with a 63-yard pick-6 in the first quarter. Reynolds caught the ball and ran back untouched to give ASU an early 7-0 lead. Reynolds finished the game with 4 tackles, a forced fumble, and his 63-yard interception returned for a touchdown.
Beast Mode Engaged
Phil Romero burst onto the scene in the fourth quarter versus Dixie State for 113 receiving yards on five receptions. He finished the game with nine receptions for 146 yards.
Steady Jorge
For the fourth consecutive game,
Jorge Hernandez eclipsed 300 yards passing. The junior accomplished this feat by throwing for 330 yards against Dixie State. Hernandez went 30-of-52 from the pocket with 2 touchdowns. His surge has propelled him to being ranked 2
nd in the RMAC with 239.4 passing yards/game. He ranks 3
rd in total offense with 243.6 yards/game.

Program To Represent San Luis Valley With Helmet Decal
Head Coach
Timm Rosenbach has announced the addition of an SLV decal on the back of each helmet to signify the San Luis Valley's importance to the Adams State football program.
"We wanted to do something to represent where we live not just where we go to school." Rosenbach said of the new decal, "The people of the San Luis Valley provide us with great fan support and are extremely active in Grizzly Club. We are their team and the new decal shows our appreciation for all they do."
The decal will be displayed on the white matte helmet and the traditional green helmet. The SLV decal marks the second consecutive season of uniform upgrades for the program. Prior to the 2015 season, the Grizzlies ushered in their white matte helmet, a gray alternative jersey, and upgrades to their traditional home and away jerseys. The assortment of new gear has allowed the program to utilize different uniform combinations on a game-by-game basis.
