Billy Presley is one of the most accomplished baseball players in the history of Adams State baseball. He arrived on the Adams State campus in 1974 after an all-state career at Widefield High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Billy made an immediate impact for the Adams State College Indians, leading ASC all the way to the district playoffs, falling one game short of the NAIA College World Series. This was the furthest Adams State baseball had ever advanced in the program’s history.
The 1975 season saw the dominant right-handed pitcher lead the entire nation in strikeouts. For his efforts, Billy was named to the NAIA District 7 All-District Baseball team, along with being named to the All-RMAC Baseball team. He then wrapped up his Adams State Career with a stellar season in 1976, being named All-District and All-Conference once again, while also being named an NAIA Academic All-American.
After graduating from Adams State with a degree in secondary education, Billy was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles and was called up from Triple A Rochester on September 2,1979. During the 1980 season he pitched in 42 games for the Orioles, going 7-4 with a 1.45 ERA that would lead the team that season. He finished the year with 18 saves.

Billy played two more professional seasons in the Orioles and Detroit Tigers before retiring in 1982. Today he is a pharmacist in Colorado Springs
