Glen Engle was a two-time All-American and an individual champion during the 1968 season. His individual title at the 177 weight class in 1968 helped the Adams State program to capture their first, of eight, NAIA National Championships. In the national title bout, Engle defeated Dennis Christianson of Morningside (Iowa) as Adams State finished with 106 team points to fend off runner-up Nebraska-Omaha with 77. Engle claimed his second All-American honor in 1969 by virtue of placing fourth at the national tournament. The individual feat helped Adams State to repeat as national champions during the 1969 season.
