  • Named to RMAC’s All-Time team during 2009 Centennial Celebration
  • 3-time All-American (1988, 1990, 1991) defensive back
  • Earned four straight First Team All-RMAC honors (1988-91)
  • Set school-records for interceptions in a season (13 in 1988) and a career (27)
  • Helped lead  the then ASC Indians to 1988 NAIA National Championship Game and 1989 National Quarterfinals
  • Team won the 1989 RMAC title and posted winning records in each of his four years on the squad
  • Went on to successful coaching career at Sanford, Battle Mountain and Monte Vista High Schools and as the defensive coordinator at New Mexico Highlands
  • Named All-San Luis Valley and Intermountain League Coach of the Year twice each
  • Graduated from Adams State in 1992 with B.A. in education
  • Later earned a M.A. for exercise physiology from Adams State in 2001
  • Recently finished his first year as principal at Monte Vista High School, his alma-mater, after a 5-year stint as Athletic Director there
  • Was an all-state and all-conference basketball and football player and a 2-time state wrestling champion there
  • Also earned all-conference honors in basketball
  • Wife Wendi is also an M.A. graduate of Adams State
  • Son Myles, 20, now attends ASU
  • Daughter Tabor is 6
