11-time NCAA Division II All-American (2001-04) 6-time NCAA Division II National Champion Named as 2003-04 Honda Sports Award NCAA Division II Athlete of the Year Brought International media attention to ASC after winning the award Has represented the USA at the 2007 and 2009 IAAF World Track & Field Championships First Alternate to 2008 U.S. Olympic Team (4th at Olympic Trials) Graduated in 2004 with a 3.44 GPA while double-majoring in sociology and Spanish Born in Charcas, San Luis Potosi, Mexico as the 15th of 16 children Father died when she was 6 Moved to Costa Mesa, Calif. at age of 16 to earn U.S. High School Diploma Became a U.S. Citizen in 2006
