MSOC | Season Finale Ends in Close Finish

RAPID CITY, SD – The Adams State University men's soccer team played its final game of the season on Sunday against South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. The Grizzlies lost 2-1 in a close overtime matchup.

The game was a back and forth contest as SDSMT capitalized in the 39th minute on a Brandon Lind goal. The Grizzlies struck back in 57th minute when Mario Castro led Leo Barba with a crisp pass leading to the equalizer. Barba led the team in goals this season with five.

The remainder of regulation favored both defenses as both offenses were kept out of the back of the net. In regulation, both teams had 11 total shots apiece.

It did not take long for the Hardrockers to end the game in extra time, as Justin Barkow found the back of the net in the 95th minute.

Adams State had their fair share of fouls with 23 and three yellow cards compared to the Hardrockers seven fouls with one yellow card.
