MSOC | Grizzlies Travel to Denver for RMAC Weekend Doubleheader

ALAMOSA, Colo. – After traveling north last weekend, the Adams State Men's Soccer team will once again head that way as they prepare to take on conference foes Metro State on Friday and Colorado Christian on Sunday. The Grizzlies are still in search of their first conference and overall victory on the year.

In what was a weekend that saw both games end in shutouts for Adams, the Grizzlies will look to produce offense however they can get it and stay competitive in conference play. If offensive production picks up and defensive performances stay at a high level, it should be a recipe for success moving forward.

Goalie Jacob Faircloth once again goes into this weekend the marquee player as his play in the goal has been stellar. Faircloth made 9 saves last weekend against Regis, but it was the one he did not save that broke the Grizzlies will and ended the game in a 1-0 victory for the Rangers.

Offensive performances must pick up, as players such as Dylan Udero, Benji Rogers, and Errol Coleman will look to pick up the slack on offense and produce goals for the Grizzlies. They have a great chance this weekend to take advantage of a winless CCU Cougars squad that has given up a ridiculous 41 goals in nine games this season and a Metro team that has also given up their fair share of points.

Adams State will take on MSU Denver on Friday at 5 p.m. in Denver, and CCU at 2:30 in Lakewood on Sunday.

Scouting the Roadrunners
MSU Denver enters the game 4-6 on the year with a conference record of 3-3. They have been wildly inconsistent on both ends of the field, but make no mistake that when they are on, are tough to stop. Bryan Amouyal leads the Roadrunners in points, goals, and shot attempts, and will be the marked man for the Grizzlies to contain. Tanner James has started and finished all 10 games for Metro this season.

Scouting the Cougars
CCU comes into Sunday's contest with an 0-9 record, and have not been all that competitive in any of their nine games this season. They have struggled to stop every offense they have faced, and have not gotten much production on offense either. Adams State will look to take advantage of these weaknesses on both ends and come back to Alamosa with a W.
