MSOC | Grizzlies Shutout by Skyhawks to Remain Winless on the Year

ALAMOSA, Colo. – After a tie against CSU-Pueblo on Friday left the Grizzlies optimistic coming into Sunday's game, there is still plenty of work to be done as they were shutout by Fort Lewis Sunday 4-0. Adams State is still searching for its first win of 2018.

Coming into the game, the Fort Lewis offense has had a red-hot offensive start to the season that has carried them to an undefeated record. After going into halftime up just 1-0, the offensive production led by Ryan Lee, was ignited and Adams State had no answer offensively or defensively.

Fort Lewis Forward Ryan Lee had himself a day tallying an assist and a goal in the second half, leading the Skyhawk charge. Goalie Ventura Salcido made three saves en route to a 4-0 shutout.

After Jacob Faircloth gave up two goals in 81 minutes in the goal for the Grizzlies, he was replaced by Matthew Burcin who also surrendered two goals in just under seven minutes of action. Faircloth did make three saves but the Skyhawk attack proved to be too much for both young goalies in the end

Adams State will head back to the drawing board this week, as they prepare to host South Dakota Mines and Colorado Mines next weekend, in what will be their third consecutive home stand.
