MSOC | Grizzlies looking for first conference win

ALAMOSA Colo. – The Adams State Grizzlies have one game on the road and then get to return t the ASU Soccer Field for a few games. This week, the Grizzlies are traveling to the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and then come home to play Colorado State University Pueblo. The Grizzlies play first on Thursday, October 14th and Sunday, October 17th.

Up first for the Grizzlies is University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. The Mountain Lions and the Grizzlies have already previously met this year, but it wasn't for conference play. In this matchup, the Grizzlies lost 2-0. However, this time, the Grizzlies are fighting to come out with a different outcome. The Mountain Lions are currently coming off of a two-game winning streak against Regis University, 3-2, and South Dakota Mines, 1-0. The Mountain Lions overall record is 6-4-1, with a 2-2-0 RMAC conference record.

Then, the Grizzlies return home and play Colorado State University Pueblo. The last time the Grizzlies saw the ThunderWolves was last season and they lost 3-1. The ThunderWolves current overall record is 9-3, with a RMAC conference record of 2-2. They are most recently coming off of a loss to Regis, 3-0.

"This weekend is a good chance for us to come together as a team and get better. The hardest part of our schedule is behind us and now we have some teams coming up who are all in the middle of the pack, much more competitive at an important time of the year," said Head Coach Brett Bentley. "If we can compete for 90 minutes and manage the highs and lows of the games then we should do well."

Up next, the Grizzlies have two games at home, one on Wednesday, October 20th and another on Friday, October 22nd. The Grizzlies will be hosting Fort Lewis College and Metropolitan State University of Denver.
