BASE| No. 2 Mavericks sweep Grizzlies in Tuesday doubleheader

 ALAMOSA, Colo.— In a makeup doubleheader on Tuesday, March 30th, Adams State welcomed Colorado Mesa. In their last meeting, Mesa took the win for both games. Colorado Mesa also swept Tuesday's double header, 26-8 and 12-2.

Game 1: Colorado Mesa 26, Adams State 8
Colorado Mesa jumped out to a quick 10-0 lead going into the bottom of the third. The Grizzlies struck back with three runs in the bottom of third. Then, at the bottom of the fourth, the Grizzlies scored three more runs from Kolton Bleggi's homerun to center field.

In the fifth inning, Jace Wytulka homered to right field, which scored an additional two runs. By this time, Mesa scored seven more runs, making the score 7-17.

The Mavericks tallied four runs in the sixth with five runs in the seventh. The Grizzlies hit one more homerun by Sammy David which brought the final score to 26-8.

Adams State earned 13 hits while surrendering 20 and committing four defensive errors.

Game 2: Colorado Mesa 12, Adams State 2
Colorado Mesa scored the first run of the second game on an errant throw in the top of the first inning. The Mavericks added four runs off of three hits in the bottom of the second inning to make the score 5-0. In the bottom of the second inning, Adams State broke through with two straight hits to lead off the inning, including a double by Oscar Romero. Adams State added a run in the second inning.

Colorado Mesa scored one run in the top of the third, four in the top of the fourth, and two in the fifth.

Adams State will have one day off before continuing RMAC action when they travel to CSU Pueblo, to take on the ThunderWolves Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
