DENVER, Colo. – The Adams State University softball team closed out the 2022 season with one last doubleheader at the Assembly Complex on the campus of MSU Denver on Saturday afternoon. The Grizzlies fell in both games by scores of 5-1 and 8-0 in five innings
GAME 1: MSU Denver 5, Adams State 1
The Grizzlies opened the scoring in the second inning as
Kylea Wall doubled down the left field like for an RBI to score
Sydney Muniz with an unearned run. The Grizzlies scored a single run in the bottom of the third thanks to an error before they scored four runs in the sixth inning to get the win.
Taylor Sandoval was tabbed with the loss as she surrendered five runs, four earned, on eight hits in five innings of work.
Game 2: MSU Denver 8, Adams State 0 (5 innings)
MSU Denver jumped on
Jade Garbiso quickly as she surrnered three runs in three innings of work including two un the first and one in the third.
Jasmine Garbiso came in and closed the game but surrented five runs in the fourth inning.
In the game the Grizzlies only got three hits.

With the two losses today, the Grizzlies conclude the 2022 season with a 13-36 overall record and 8-30 in the RMAC. They are in 11th place in the conference standings ahead of New Mexico Highlands who finished with a 7-43 overall record and a 5-33 RMAC mark. Colorado Mesa, Colorado Christian, Regis, MSU Denver, UCCS and Fort Lewis all qualified for the RMAC tourament. The 2022 tournament will be held in Grand Junction next week.
