DURANGO -- Fort Lewis College scored three times in the first half and went on to a 6-0, home-pitch win against Adams State Aug. 30.
The Skyhawks won their first match of the season to go with two ties. The Grizzlies fell to 0-3.
FLC's Aymaro Vargas scored two of his three goals in the first half. His first goal came from a feed by Tomas Duenes Gonzalez. His other goal came from an assist by Gabriel Legendre and Loic Jean-Baptiste in the 11th minuteÂ
Gabriel Legendre tallied the other goal in the 17th minute off a pass from Kaden Schufft.
Vargas completed his hat trick in the 55th minute. Legendre added an assist to his stat sheet on Henrik Hake's goal in the 64th minute. Jakob Maurek completed the scoring with an unassisted tally in the 79th minute.

Ranulfo Lopez's on-target shot came late in the first half, the only one to be on goal. FLC netminder Evan Kowalski made that save.
Adams State will try again for its first win of the season in a matinee match (11:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9) against Colorado Christian University, and the match is at Trailblazer Stadium in Lakewood.
