ALAMOSA, Colo. -- Fans knew they were in for a good game ion Wednesday afternoon at the ASU Soccer Field after the Adams State University women's soccer team scored a goal moments into the game, but they wouldn't know the Grizzlies would score four times in the game to shut out the New Mexico Highlands Cowgirls, 4-0, on Saturday.
The Grizzlies scored in the second minute as
Athena Huggins found open space and took the ball from one end of the field all the way for the goal.
The score would remain the same until the second half. In the 67th minute
Colette Tena fired a goal to get past defenders and make the score 2-0.
After two red cards and a Cowgirl red card, the Grizzlies continued to put on the pressure as Brissa Toribilo scored a goal in the 83rd minute before
Keira Robertson scored a tough-angle goal for her first career goal of the year.
The Grizzlies allowed five shots while taking six of their own.
