COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – 13 Adams State Grizzly cross country runners earned Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) All-Academic honors as announced by conference officials on Wednesday morning. Leading the way for the Grizzlies was the RMAC Runner of the Year, Brianna Robles, as she was named to the first team. The other 12 were named to the honor roll.
Colorado School of Mines' Duncan Fuehne and Margaux Basart we named the Academic Runners of the Year, respectively. Of the 14 honorees on the men's and women's first teams, seven RMAC institutions are represented on each team.
On the women's side, Robles, a senior, is majoring in English with an emphasis in Communications and holds a 3.64 GPA. She was an All-American this season as she led the Grizzlies at the NCAA Division II Championships in which the Grizzlies finished second as a team.
Also being honored on the RMAC Honor Roll was junior Amalia Dorion, redshirt sophomore Fiona Hawkins, sophomore Lieke Hoogsteen, junior Morgan Hykes, sophomore Maggie McCleskey, and senior Erin Stronebarger.
On the men's side, redshirt junior Elijah DeLaCerda, redshirt freshman Carson Clancey, junior James Dunne, Junior Andrew O'Keefe, Junior Mikah Paiz and redshirt sophomore Kai Smith, were all honorable mention.
To earn honorable mention, student athletes must have participated a certain percentage of the season's contests, have attended two previous semester and have a 3.50 GPA.
