The only touchdown was made by
Kentrell Petite as he capped off a short field with a 16-yard catch from freshman quarterback Conner Underhill.
Orediggers Last Game
Mines scored 21 points in the fourth quarter and rallied back from a 14-3 halftime deficit to defeat #4/6 Angelo State, 31-21, on the road in Texas last week. The Orediggers ground out a punishing win, with Landon Walker and Noah Roper combining for 119 yards and three rushing touchdowns (all in the second half) and John Matocha hitting Max McLeod on a stunning one-play, 84-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to take the lead for good. Mines' second-half turnaround saw them limit the Rams to just a single score early in the fourth quarter while finding the end zone four times, including Walker's 38-yard dagger in the final minute to deny ASU of a comeback opportunity.
Adams State-Mines History
This will be the 75th meeting between Mines and Adams State in a series dating back to 1947 ... The series is tied 36-36-2 ... Mines had trailed in the series since 1964 but has won nine straight over the Grizzlies to tie it ... The all-time series is close no matter how you slice it: ASU leads 34-32-2 in RMAC play, Mines leads 20-18-1 in Golden ... Mines has won nine in a row and 14 of the last 15 dating back to 2007 ... The Orediggers have scored 40 or more points in each of their wins in the current nine-game winning streak, including last year's 84-10 win that was the most lopsided score in either direction in the series' history.
