Alamosa, Colo. – Adams State swim team competed in two back-to-back meets, first taking on Colorado School of Mines on Friday, followed by a tri-meet on Saturday against Mines and Colorado State University-Pueblo (CSUP). Saturday's meet was also Senior Day for the Grizzly Senior Swimmers. 

Meet 1: Adams State vs. Colorado School of Mines (November 1)

Women's Events

• 400-Yard Medley Relay: Adams State's A team, consisting of Brenna Otteman, Emily Markle, Anjali Friedman, and Jocelyn Jones, finished with a time of 3:43.87 taking third place in this event.

• 50-Yard Freestyle: Adams State showed dominance in this sprint event with Lena Brown winning first place in 25.01 and Jocelyn Jones closely behind, taking second with a time of 25.75. This was a standout event for the team. 

• 200-Yard Freestyle: Kennedy Larson and Jenna Lang finished fourth and fifth, respectively, with times of 2:22.47 and 2:25.20. 

Men's Events

• 400-Yard Medley Relay: Adams State's men's A team, led by Ben Brewer, Mohamed Abujiba, Devin Walters, and Brayden Stalcup, took third with a time of 3:43.87. 

• 50-Yard Freestyle: Ricky Santiago finished third in the men's 50-yard freestyle, clocking in at 23.48, an excellent showing in a tight, fast-paced race.

• 200-Yard Freestyle Relay: Adams State's A team secured a second-place finish with a time of 1:31.05, just behind Mines. This relay team included Landon Brewer, George Lutkenhaus, Brayden Stalcup, and Mohamed Abujiba, all of whom delivered strong performances.

Meet 2: Adams State vs. Colorado School of Mines & CSUP (November 2)

Early Saturday, Adams State competed in a tri-meet with both Colorado Mines and CSUP. 

Women's Events

• 200-Yard Medley Relay: Adams State's A team, consisting of Brenna Otteman, Anjali Friedman, Jocelyn Jones, and Lena Brown, finished fourth with a time of 2:01.80. 

• 50-Yard Freestyle: Lena Brown delivered a fourth-place finish in 27.37, contributing to the team's points in this short-distance event. Sammy Buttermore also competed, finishing in 31.68.

• 100-Yard Breaststroke: Anjali Friedman put in a commendable effort, finishing fifth with a time of 1:13.98, continuing her strong performance from the previous day.

Men's Events

• 100-Yard Breaststroke: Mohamed Abujiba achieved a notable victory for Adams State, winning the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 59.30, walking away with the pool record. Dylan Jones followed up in fifth place at 1:04.64. David O'Brien came in sixth with a time of 1:08.31

• 200-Yard Medley Relay: The men's A team of Brewer, Abujiba, Walters, and Stalcup, finished third with a time of 1:40.11, maintaining their performance level from the previous day.

• 400-Yard Freestyle Relay: In the day's final men's relay, Adams State's A team was unfortunately disqualified, but the B team rallied to finish third with a time of 3:41.99. 

This was the final meet at home for the Grizzlies. They will travel to Colorado College on November 16 for a dual meet.
