Tucson, Ariz. - The Adams State baseball team played a doubleheader against Malone University on Friday, winning big in game one and losing a close game two. The first game ended 9-1 and the second game ended 2-3.
Game 1 - Adams State 9, Malone University 1
Through 4 innings the Grizzlies were down 1-0; however in the top of the 5th the Grizzlies got the sticks going. Adams State scored 5 in the 5th and 4 more in 6th. Malone was unable to respond with any more runs and the final score ended in favor of the Grizzlies 9-1.Â
The Grizzlies had 9 runs on 9 hits from 27 at bats compared to the Pioneers' 1 run on 2 hits and 22 at bats. Ayden Tauchser had 2 hits, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBIs.Â

Game 2 - Malone University 3, Adams State 2
Adams State started off game two hot with 2 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning; however, the Pioneers scored 1 run each of the 2nd, 3rd, and 6th innings. The score ended in favor of Malone 3-2.Â
The Grizzlies had 2 runs on 7 hits from 25 at bats compared to the Pioneers' had 6 runs on 7 hits from 26 at bats.Â

The Grizzlies will be back in action Saturday to face Concordia University, St. Paul in a double header.
