Grizzlies Fall to Chadron State in RMAC Matchup

Alamosa, Colo. – The Adams State Grizzlies showed grit on defense but ultimately fell to Chadron State, 45–2, on Saturday afternoon at Rex Field in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) play.

The Grizzlies forced two fumbles and recorded a safety in the second quarter, showcasing resilience against one of the conference's top offensive units. Despite the defensive highlights, the Eagles managed 513 total yards on the day—300 rushing and 213 passing.

Chadron State quarterback Aidan Thompson way with 198 passing yards and four touchdowns, three of which went to wide receiver Tommy Thomas, who finished with seven catches for 144 yards.

Adams State's lone points came when the Grizzly defense broke through to tackle the Eagles' punter in the end zone for a safety early in the second quarter, making it 14–2 at the time.

Offensively, Adams State finished with 114 total yards. Freshman Gabe McFarland led the Grizzlies' ground attack with 26 yards on five carries, while junior Devin Dawkins paced the receiving corps with 23 yards on two receptions.

Defensively, Mafileo Tupou led Adams State with 10 total tackles, followed by Ren Meafua with nine and Benjamin Rodriguez with four. The Grizzlies forced three fumbles, recovering two, including a key takeaway late in the second quarter.

Senior punter Braden Biller was a bright spot for the Grizzlies, averaging 46.1 yards per punt with a long of 76.

Adams State (0–5 overall, 0–3 RMAC) will look to regroup next weekend when they travel to face Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
