Alamosa, Colo. -- The Adams State Grizzlies flashed early offensive promise but couldn't maintain the momentum Thursday afternoon, falling 18–5 to Westminster (Utah) in their season finale at the ASU Lacrosse Field.
Adams State (0–8, 0–8 RMAC) held its own early, matching the Griffins with a pair of goals in each of the opening two quarters to keep the game competitive. Alex Wilderboer opened the scoring for the Grizzlies, converting off a feed from Danny Joy. Jacob Parsons followed shortly after with an unassisted strike to close out the first quarter.
The second quarter saw unassisted goals from both Jason Parsons and Malik Maxwell, keeping Adams State within reach at halftime, down 14–4. Jason Parsons added his second of the game early in the third quarter, but the Grizzlies were unable to break through in the final period as Westminster's defense locked in.
The Griffins outshot Adams State 54–21, including a 33–10 advantage in shots on goal. Between the pipes, Ryan Berger stood tall for the Grizzlies, turning away 18 of 33 attempts in a gutsy performance.

The game marked the final collegiate appearance for senior Kris Owens, the team's lone graduating senior, whose leadership has been instrumental throughout the season.
