COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado — During the three-day 2026 Colorado College Classic, held at the Schlessman Natatorium the Grizzlies took third place on the Men's side, and fourth place on the Women's side. The Men finished the event with 4 2nd place finishes and 3 third places finishes collecting 534.5 points, while the Women finished the event with a total of 257 points after the event concluded. 

Men's Events

100 Yard Free- In the 100-yard freestyle the Grizzlies collected a Silver medal with Kenny Rupp finishing second with a time of 47.51 collecting 17 points for the Grizzlies. The Grizzlies also collected a fourth place in the 100-yard freestyle with Landon Brewer finishing with a time of 48.32.

200 Yard Back- The Grizzlies collected a Bronze medal with Devin Walters finishing third with a final time of 2:03.74. With Walters third place finish he collected 16 points for the Grizzlies. On top of Walter's third place finish, Ben Brewer also finished fourth collecting another 15 points for the Grizzlies. Brewer finished with a final time of 2:06.23.

500 Yard Free- The Grizzlies collected their second Silver medal with Devin Walters finishing second in the 500-yard freestyle. Walters finished with a time of 5:01.42 to collect another 17 points for the Grizzlies. 

400 Medley Relay- With a third place finish in the 400-yard Medley Relay the Grizzlies A relay team collected the Grizzlies second Bronze medal. The relay team consisted of Kenny Rupp, Victor Lebsock, Devin Walters, and Quintin Cummings. The four men collected their third place finish with a time of 3:42.45, giving the Grizzlies team another 32 points. 

200 Medley Relay- In the 200-yard Medley Relay, the Grizzlies collect their third Bronze medal finishing in third place with their A relay team. The relay team consisted of Ben Brewer, Victor Lebsock, Devin Walters, and Kenny Rupp. The four men finished with a final time of 1:40.62 to collect their third place finish, collecting 32 points for the Grizzly team. 

200 Free- Collecting their third Silver medal was Kenny Rupp who finished in second place in the 200-yard freestyle race. Rupp finished with a final time of 1:46.87 to collect second place while also collecting 17 points for the Grizzly team. 

100 Back- In the 100-yard Backstroke the Grizzlies collected their fourth and final bronze medal with a third place finish from Devin Walters. Walters finished with a time of 55.01 to collect 16 points for the Grizzlies. Ben Brewer and Quenten Madrid both collected points in the 100-yard Backstroke along with Walters with a fifth place and eighth place finish. Finishing in fifth was Brewer who collected 14 points and finishing in eighth was Madrid who collected 11 points. 

800 Free Relay- Collecting the Grizzlies final Silver medal was the Grizzly A relay team, consisting of Landon Brewer, Dillon Brown, Devin Walters, and Kenny Rupp. The four men finished with a final time of 7:39.32 to finish second place. The second place finish by the Grizzlies A relay team collected 34 points for the Grizzly team. 

Women's Events

200 Free Relay- In the 200-yard Freestyle Relay the Grizzlies A team finished in fifth place collecting 30 points for the Grizzly team. The relay team consisted of Ashlyn Popham, Brenna Otteman, Ryley Martinez, and Jocelyn Jones. The four women collected their fifth place finish with a final time of 1:45.65.

200 Free- In the 200-Yard Freestyle Jocelyn Jones finishes in sixth place giving the grizzlies 13 points. Jones finished with a final time of 2:07.61 to collect the sixth place finish. 

100 Back- In the 100-yard Backstroke the Grizzlies collected a seventh place finish with Ashlyn Popham collecting 12 points for the Grizzlies. Popham finished the event with a time of 1:04.37 to collect the seventh place finish. Collecting points in the 100-yard Backstroke was also Clare Bonham who finished in twelfth place with a final time of 1:07.53, collecting 5 points for the Grizzlies

50 Free- Collecting 5.5 points each in the 50-yard Freestyle was Jocelyn Jones and Ashlyn Popham. The two women finished tied in eleventh place with a time of 25.94. In total the Grizzlies were able to collect 11 points in the 50-Yard Freestyle event. 

400 Free Relay- Finishing in seventh place, collecting 26 points for the Grizzlies was the Grizzlies A relay team. The relay team consisted of Jocelyn Jones, Brenna Otteman, Ashlyn Popham, and Eleanor Schafer. The four women finished with a final time of 3:55.92 to collect their 26 points in the event final.

Looking forward to the Grizzlies, their next meet will be this upcoming weekend on Saturday, January 24th. The meet will be a one day event held in Gunnison, Colorado at the home of Western Colorado. The meet will also be a Women's Only event with the Men's next event being the RMAC championship meet at the beginning of February.
