Salt Lake City, Utah – Adams State dropped a road RMAC matchup on Saturday morning, falling 25-4 to Westminster (Utah) after a fast start by the Griffins proved difficult to overcome.
Westminster set the tone early, scoring nine goals in the opening quarter and controlling possession throughout. Adams State (2-6, 2-3 RMAC) found itself in an early deficit and was unable to recover as the Griffins continued to build separation in each period.
Despite the result, the Grizzlies saw contributions across the lineup. Four different players found the back of the net, with goals coming from Jason Parsons, Tre Williams, Cohen Taylor, and Malik Maxwell. Jacob Parsons led the team with two assists, while Maxwell added a goal and an assist in the effort.
Cohen Taylor and Malik Maxwell each capitalized with man-up goals, providing some offensive momentum during stretches of the game.
Defensively, the Grizzlies were tested throughout as Westminster held a significant edge in shots (75-10) and ground balls (57-22). Goalkeepers Ryan Berger and Jamisen Blackwell combined for 19 saves while facing consistent pressure.
Adams State will look to regroup and bounce back as they travel to Colorado Mesa next Saturday.
