Grizzlies Close Season in Loss to Concordia Irvine

Salt Lake City — Adams State closed out its 2026 season on Thursday evening, falling to Concordia University Irvine, 18–8, in a neutral-site contest in Salt Lake City after its scheduled finale against Dominican was canceled.

The Grizzlies came out sharp, matching Concordia early with a pair of three-goal quarters. Adams State found offensive rhythm in the opening half, heading into the break down 6–7 behind balanced scoring and a man-up goal.

Momentum shifted in the second half as Concordia took control in the third quarter, outscoring the Grizzlies 5–0 while limiting Adams State's opportunities. The Eagles continued to build separation in the fourth, adding six more goals to secure the win.

Cohen Taylor paced the Grizzlies with three goals and an assist, while Malik Maxwell added two goals. Jacob Parsons and Tre Williams each recorded a goal and an assist, and Jamal Wilson also contributed a score.

Defensively, Adams State faced consistent pressure, with Concordia holding a 66–28 advantage in shots and a 35–13 edge in shots on goal. Goalkeeper Ryan Berger tallied 17 saves in the effort.

The Grizzlies went 1-for-3 on man-up opportunities and were strong in clears at 27-of-29, but struggled in possession, including a deficit at the faceoff X and 29 turnovers.

With the cancellation of the Dominican matchup, Thursday's contest marks the end of the season for Adams State, as the Grizzlies turn their focus toward the offseason.
