LAKEWOOD, Colorado — The Adams State men's soccer team dropped its RMAC road match Sunday afternoon, falling 5-0 to Colorado Christian University at Trailblazer Stadium. With the loss, the Grizzlies move to 1-6-1 overall and 0-2-0 in RMAC play.
Colorado Christian controlled the opening half, taking a 3-0 lead into halftime. The Cougars opened the scoring in the 13th minute, finding the back of the net to take an early 1-0 advantage. CCU added another goal in the 24th minute before scoring its third goal of the half in the 37th minute, taking a three-goal lead into the break.
The Cougars continued their offensive pressure in the second half, adding two more goals to extend their advantage. Colorado Christian found the back of the net again in the 60th minute before scoring its final goal in the 80th minute, securing the 5-0 victory.
For Adams State, the Grizzlies recorded nine shots throughout the match, with two finding the target. Angel Avila Sandoval and Ashton De Luna each recorded a shot on goal, while goalkeeper Bryan Amezcua made 10 saves in the match.
Anthony Benallo and Levi Levin led the Grizzlies with two shots apiece, while Douglas Cutshall, Kaidin Reese, and Ryan Harcrow each added one shot.
Colorado Christian finished the match with 22 shots, including 15 on target, while earning three corner kicks. Adams State recorded nine shots, including two on target, and collected two corner kicks throughout the match.

The Grizzlies will return to action next Friday, October 2nd, when they host Colorado Mesa University at 3 p.m. MST at the Adams State Soccer Field in Alamosa, Colorado. Adams State will look to bounce back on its home field and secure its first RMAC conference victory of the season against the Colorado Mesa Mavericks.
