As a Redshirt Freshman (2011): Made five tackles, including two solo stops in eight apperances... Had an assisted tackle for a loss at Fort Lewis (Oct. 22).
Before Adams State: Attended Northern Arizona University for two years (2009-11) as a walk-on... Was named as the Division I-FCS Lumberjacks' Scout Player of the Year... Practiced with the teams for both years but did not see any game action in 2010 after redshirting in 2009.Â
Prep: Captain of the Jay Lukes coached Araphahoe High School Warriors... Lukes was a former assistant coach at Adams State... Was named as team's defensive player of the year as a senior (2008)... Posted 87 solo tackles, 63 assisted stops, and three sacks between his junior and senior years... Was a 2-time state qualifier in wrestling... Claimed 63 wrestling wins as he claimed the takedown record for his school twice.
Academics: Graduated from Araphahoe High School in 2009... Graduated with a 3.78 high school GPA... Is majoring in history and social studies education... Posted a 3.83 GPA in his first year at Adams State earning a spot on the A.D.'s Honor Roll after both semesters... Had a 3.85 GPA during his time at Northern Arizona earning a spot on the dean's list after all four of his semesters there.
Off the Field: Born 4/28/91 to Pamela and Brent Johnson... Has one brother, Bryce, 14, and two sisters, Leslie, 23, and Abbey, 11... Mom and dad competed in football and gymnastics, respectively, at West Point... Hobbies include hiking, reading, fishing and watching movies... Favorite Food is Mexican...
