Biography

Prep: McElmell spent his senior season with Canyon del Oro (Ariz.) High School primarily at left tackle but also spent time on the right side of the line in unbalanced formations. He is the third offensive lineman to sign with ASU for 2015 (as of 2/24). At 6-foot-4 and 284lbs., McElmell anchored an offensive line at Canyon del Oro that finished 9-3 overall and 5-0 in league play. Two-time First Team All-State selection as an offensive lineman. Named First Team All-State honorable mention during his junior season at defensive line. First Team honorable mention at offensive line after freshman and sophomore seasons. Started a total of 40 varsity games for Canyon del Oro. His skill set wasn't limited to only offensive line responsibilities as he also saw time at defensive end.
