Has been named to the Preseason All-RMAC squad for the second straight year...
As a Sophomore (2007): Played and started all 11 games at tailback… Led the team in rushing for the second straight season as he registered 739 net yards on 185 carries… Earned First Team All-RMAC honors after finishing fifth in the conference’s rushing statistic… Also earned Honorable Mention All-Colorado honors… Had been named to the Preseason All-RMAC squad before the season... Averaged 4.0 yards per attempt… Scored one touchdown and averaged 67.2 yards per game… Had a long rush of 44 yards… Also caught four balls for 16 yards, including a long of 15 against Chadron State… Returned one kick for 24 yards in that same game… Had one catch in each of the team’s final four games… Finished third on the team with 779 all-purpose yards… Carried the ball a career-high 29 times for 148 yards against New Mexico Highlands… Had his 44-yard rush in that contest… Had three more 100-yard games in the season… Registered three in consecutive weeks against New Mexico Highlands, Western New Mexico and Fort Lewis… Rushed 22 times for 110 yards against Western New Mexico and 25 times for an even 100 as the Grizzlies reclaimed the Musket in the win over Fort Lewis, ASC’s first victory of the season… Also rushed 23 times for 121 yards in another Colorado Classic at Dutch Clark win against Western State… Has had 100-yard efforts in both Colorado Classic wins… Had scored his only touchdown of the year in the season-opener against Midwestern State…
As a Freshman (2006): Played in all 11 games, starting each of the last three at tailback as a true freshman… Earned Second Team All-RMAC honors… Had 72 carries for a team-high 529 net yards, good for a stellar 7.2 per carry average… Scored six rushing touchdowns… Averaged 48.1 yards per game… Finished seventh in the conference for rushing yards per game… Also returned seven kicks for 130 yards, an 18.6 per return average… Had two punt returns for 20 yards… Also returned a blocked punt for 20 yards and a score… Led all non-kickers on the team with seven touchdowns and 42 points… Was tied for sixth in the conference in scoring (non-kickers)… Finished second on the team with 699 all-purpose yards… Scored his first touchdown in the team’s first game against Dixie State (Sept. 2)… Had his first of three straight 100-yard games against Mesa State when he carried the ball 11 times for 120 yards… Earned a start for the next game, the Colorado Classic at Dutch Clark in Pueblo… Rushed for 105 yards on a season-high 18 carries in that game… Exploded for 167 yards and three touchdowns a week later against Oklahoma Panhandle State… Did it on just nine carries… Scored four touchdowns in the game’s first 20:06… Had first quarter touchdown runs of 25 and 8 yards around his blocked kick in the first quarter… Scored a 29-yard touchdown run just 5:06 into the second quarter… Named as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week (Nov. 6)… Also received State Player of the Week honors from the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame’s Colorado Chapter… Finished the year with an 11-carry game against Chadron State in which he rushed seven times… One of those carries was for a 65-yard score, his longest of the season.
ASC Track & Field: Joined the Grizzly track and field team for the 2007-08 indoor season… Ran an altitude-adjusted season-best time of 7.42 seconds in the 60 meters... Returned to football during the spring.
Prep: First team all-state and all-conference running back and kick returner for the Ron Johnson coached Alameda HS Pirates... Was also an all-conference triple jumper for the track and field team... Also played basketball for the Pirates.
Academics: Is majoring in human performance and physical education… Is minoring in business…Plans to work in sports media or personal training... Had a 3.2 GPA in high school.
Off the Field: Born 8/18/88 to Bill and Rebecca Murray... Younger sisters Angela and Lena are 21 and 7, respectively... Enjoys video games... Favorite movie is Belly... Favorite food is chinese… Favorite professional team is the New Orleans Saints.
