Prep: Earned 5A Front Range All-Conference honors from his right field position as a senior in 2012 with the Frank Gonzales coached Fort Collins HS Lambkins… Was ranked second in the conference and 18th in the state (5A level) with his .488 batting average… Also had 15 RBI, three homers, a .571 on-base percentage, a .902 slugging percentage and seven stolen bases… Had a 3-3 record and a 4.63 ERA with 45 strikeouts in 39.1 innings of work as a pitcher… Helped the team to a 9-11 overall record, including a 7-4 league mark in 2012... Played high school basketball from 2008-11 as well… Also saw time at short stop and third base positions.
Club: Also played for the Troy Tolar coached Fort Collins HS Summer team from 2008-11… Played for the WYCO Braves, coached by Chris Knabenshue in the fall of 2011… Played for the Slammers in the fall of 2008 and 2009.
Academics: Is majoring in pre-pharmacy or chemistry with plans of becoming a pharmacist… Had a 3.4 GPA… Earned honorable mention academic all-state honors.
Off the Field: Born 03/04/94… Son of Jack and Wendy English… Sisters Amber and Bailey are 16 and 14… Brother Bryce is 12… Both Jack (baseball) and Wendy (basketball) were student-athletes at York College… Enjoys playing the acoustic guitar and the ukulele, Frisbee golf and hiking and camping… Favorite food is salmon… Favorite professional sports team is the Denver Broncos.
Why I Chose Adams State: “It seems like a good fit for me. It’s close to home, yet still far enough away to have my independence. I like that it’s in Colorado, because I have always loved the mountains. Adams State also gives me the opportunity to play baseball at the collegiate level.”
