2013 Indoor Season:
Red shirted with a PR of 1:49.68 in the 800m at altitude in Albuquerque… Qualifying him for the 2013 indoor USA Track and Field Championships.
2012 Outdoor Season
Named RMAC Freshman of the year… He is the RMAC Champion in the 400m… NCAA Champion in the 800m… Contributed 10 valuable points to the ASU team’s first ever 1st place finish in the Outdoor NCAA Championships.
2012 Indoor Season
USTFCCCA Indoor Track & Field All-American in 800 meter... NCAA National Champion of the 800m... USTFCCCA NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field All-Region Team in 400 meter... All-RMAC Men's Indoor Track & Field First Team in 400 meter... RMAC Freshman of the year... Assisted team in placing 2nd at the championships by contributing 10 points.
Prep: Ran for coaches Fred Marjerrison and Erik Nelson at Widefield High School… A 2010 and 2011 Colorado All-State runner on the track… Named as the 2011 Denver Post Athlete of the Year… Won back-to-back 400 and 800 meter state titles (2010 & 2011)… Also ran as part of the stat champ 4x400 meter relay squad in 2011… Set state records in the 400 meters (46.93 seconds) and 800 meters (1:52.18)… Also owns PRs of 11.32 seconds for 100 meters and 22.10 seconds for 200 meters… Also ran cross country at Widefield and was the team’s 2010 MVP.
Academics: Is majoring in Education and Coaching... Graduated from Widefield HS in 2011.
Off the Track: Born 12/19/92… Son of Larry and Silvia Berian… Has two siblings, 28-year-old Leslie Banks and 25-year-old Chris Banks… Favorite movie is Shawshank Redemption… Favorite food is bacon… Chose to run at Adams State because of the great track program and the training atmosphere.
