2011 Outdoor: Placed 10th in the hammer throw and 11th in the discus at the RMAC Championships.
2010-11 Indoor: 3rd Team All-RMAC, Weight Throw.
2010 Outdoor: Competed unattached…Recorded season-best shot put distance of 13.51 meters (44’ 4 ¼”) at the CSU-Pueblo Invitational (April 17)…Hammer throw season best heave of 43.66 meters (143’ 3”) also achieve at the CSU-Pueblo Invitational (April 17)…Competed twice in the discus, recording his best toss in the season-opening Tom Benich Classic (April 3) at 40.33 meters (132’ 4”).
2009-10 Indoor: Competed unattached…Began the year at the CSM Alumni Extravaganza (Dec. 5) with a season-best weight throw performance of 12.09 meters (39’ 8”), finishing 9th overall…Recorded a throw of 14.44 meters (47’ 7 ½”) to finish 5th overall at the UNM Invitational (Jan. 30).
Prep: Coached under Jeff Dope, Head Coach, and Lance Hochanadel, Throw Coach, in HS... In 2007 at state he placed fourth in Shot and fourth in Disc... Went on to place third in Shot and first in Disc in 2008 state championships... Hold the school record in Disc with 167'9"... Was All-Conference from 2006-2009... Was All-State in 2007 and 2008.
Academics: Is majoring in Sports Management... Wants to be an athletic director, teacher, and coach... Graduated from Fort Morgan HS in 2009.
Off the Track: Born 2/15/90... Son of Lance and Carolyn Hochandel... Has four brothers Tony, Ben, John, and James... Favorite sports teams are the Kansas City Chiefs and the Oregon Ducks.
