Before ASU: Ran for Coach Espinoza at Glendale CC... Set personal records for the 5K (14:46) and the 10K (30:46)... He is a two time All-American NJCAA... Placed 3rd in the 10K and 2nd in the 5K at Nationals.
Prep: Ran for Coach Bob Jackson at Hobbs HS... His HS personal records are 9:42 in the 5200, 4:26 in the 1600 and 1:57 in the 800... Named All-State and All-Harrier Team in New Mexico... In 2011 he placed 2nd in the N.M. 5A State Championships.
Academics: Is majoring in K-12 Education... Wants to be a coach... Graduated HS with a 4.0 GPA... Was int he top 1% (5th out of 525)... Graduated with distinguished honors... Left his CC with a 3.5 GPA.
Off the Track: Born 12/14/92... Son of Rosanna Florez... Brother to Selena and Dimitri... Enjoys painting and drawing... Favorite movie is Warrior... Favorite foods are mexican dishes.
