Prep: Pitched for Erie HS under the direction of coach Bob Bledsoe...Was on a team that won the Colorado state championship three consecutive seasons (2009-11)...Four-time All-Conference...Was named to the All-State team in 2012...Also played basketball and tennis in high school, being named Team MVP in tennis.

Academics: Chose Adams State because of the good nursing program and needed a small school...Majoring in nursing...Wants to becoma an emergency room nurse and flight for life...Earned a 3.4 GPA in high school.

Off the Field: Born 10/30/1993... Parents are Jon Murphy, Tina and Steve Payne...Siblings are Chris (45), Joel (35), Amy (31), Joey (10) and Matthew (8)...Enjoys laughing and loving...Favorite movie is Radio...Favorite food is anything spicy...Favorite professional sports team is the Denver Broncos.
