Prep: 3-time All-Conference honoree with the Denver East HS Angels, coached by Howard Karsh… Also Earned Honorable Mention Denver Post All-State accolades as a senior in 2012 after hitting a whopping .635… Was a first team All-Conference honoree that year after receiving second team honors as a .340 hitter in 2011 and honorable mention recognition as a sophomore in 2010 after hitting .383… Named as the Team’s Co-Outstanding Player of the Year and Co-Defensive Player of the Year twice each (2011-12)… Played catcher, first base and third base positions for the Angels, who went a combined 42-16 in his three varsity seasons, all of which resulted in state tournament appearances… Captained the 2012 team, which went 17-3… Named team’s MVP and tabbed as Denver Post Athlete of the Week Award winner… Also played high school football.

Club: Played for Hitstreak, a Connie Mack team in the summers of 2011 and 2012… Played American Legion summer ball in 2009 and 2010 after playing for the Denver Dragons from 2005-08.

Academics: Is majoring in sociology with career plans of becoming a police officer or otherwise being involved in criminal justice… Had a 3.8 high school GPA.

Off the Field: Born 11/26/93 to Steve and Kendra Moldenhauer… Enjoys camping and fishing… Favorite movie is Scarface… Favorite type of music is country… Favorite food is steak… Favorite professional sports team is the Colorado Rockies.

Why I Chose Adams State: “I’m really excited to be part of bringing baseball back to Adams State and playing for Coach Capra. Adams State has the major I was interested in, plus I get to play baseball.”
