Prep: Swam for Amy Howard and the Waconia Wildcats. Named 2011 Most Improved. High School events participated in: 50 yard freestyle, 100 yard freestyle, 200 yard freestyle, 500 yard freestyle, 100 yard breaststroke, 100 yard butterfly, and 200 yard IM. 

Academics: Graduated from Waconia High School with a 3.6 GPA. Plans on majoring in Exercise Science and Sports Psychology. 

Away from the pool: Born 8-26-96. Daughter to Jean Ruiz and sister to Joshua Ruiz. Hobbies include Crossfit, art, listening to music, and watching movies. Favorite movie is Transformers. Favorite sports team is the Minnesota Wild. 

Why you chose Adams State: "I wanted an opportunity to swim at the collegiate level and i was looking for a smaller college out of state that offered the majors i was interested in".
