Biography
2011-12 (Freshman Season): A member of the 200-yard freestyle relay team that holds the ASU record for time (1:42.90) and the 800-yard freestyle relay (8:04.38), which were both set during the 2012 RMAC Championship in San Antonio.
Prep: Posted a season best time of 5:24.97 in the 500 freestyle in 2011 and a 2:02.99 in the 200 freestyle… Helped the team place sixth at the state meet and second at the league meet… also competed in cross country and track and field.
Academic: Graduated from Arapahoe HS in 2011 with a 3.65 GPA… is planning on majoring in elementary education.
Out of the pool: Born 7/15/92 to Garry and Jaye Shomaker… has two sisters, Lauren (18) and Samantha (21)… her twin sister, Lauren, is going to compete in cross country and track and field at Hastings College in Nebraska… hobbies include kick boxing, writing, running and triathlons… favorite movies are Free Willy and Remember the Titans… favorite food is chocolate… favorite athlete is Diana Nyad.
