Alexander is a Sacramento, California native. He is beginning his coaching career after a successful collegiate playing career at multiple levels of college football. As a former defensive back, Alexander brings firsthand experience competing in some of the most challenging conferences in college football and uses those experiences to develop players both on and off the field.
Alexander began his collegiate playing career at American River College in 2021, where he played cornerback and became a two-year starter. During his time at American River, he helped lead the team to playoff appearances both years, and a conference championship during the 2022 season. That 2022 team was also ranked among the top four teams in the nation, and appeared in the 3C2A Northern California Championship, providing Alexander with the opportunity to compete at an elite level of junior college football.
After American River College, Alexander transferred to Luther College, where he competed at the NCAA Division III level in one of the nation’s most competitive Division III conferences. During his season, he started six games and recorded 25 tackles, two interceptions, five pass breakups, and two PAT blocks, earning All-Conference Honorable Mention recognition. His experience competing in a highly competitive NCAA Division III conference gave him valuable insight into the preparation, discipline, and attention to detail required to succeed at the collegiate level.
Alexander finished his playing career at Briar Cliff University in the NAIA’s Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), one of the strongest conferences in NAIA football. During his final season, he led the GPAC in pass breakups from week 1 through week 6 and finished the season ranked 5th overall in the conference in pass breakups.
Having competed in the American River Conference, a highly competitive NCAA Division III conference, the GPAC, and 3C2A (CCCAA) Alexander has experienced multiple levels and styles of college football firsthand. Those experiences have shaped his approach to coaching and given him a unique perspective on what it takes for defensive backs to compete at a high level.
Now beginning his coaching career at Adams State University, Alexander is focused on translating the lessons he learned as a player into player development, football IQ, discipline, and preparation. His goal is to help student-athletes maximize their abilities while preparing them for success on the field, in the classroom, and beyond football.
