Adams State University will start the 2017 season with Angelica Gero (pronounced "Gee-row") at the helm of the women's lacrosse program.
"I could not be more excited to be starting a new chapter at Adams State, and for the opportunity to take over this program. I have very high expectations for the potential of this team, and what we can accomplish this spring, and in the seasons to come. I cannot wait to get started, and I suggest that everyone keep an eye out for us, because the Grizzlies are looking to make some noise this year." Gero said of the upcoming season.
Gero comes to Adams State after two seasons at Felician University (New Jersey) where she was the Head Coach, and an additional two seasons at United Lacrosse, where she was a leader in the program.
Gero also coached at Colts Neck High School (2012-2014)
"We were looking for a coach who would provide solid leadership, discipline and stability in the program. We're excited and confident that that coach is Angelica Gero. Her passion and leadership skills came through loud and clear during the interview process. The entire athletic family welcomes her to Adams State and the community." Said Athletic Director
Larry Mortensen.
As a player, Gero suited up for the Lions from 2006-2010, where she was a defender. She holds a Bachelors of Science from Georgia Court.
