ASU came out fired up and ready to upset the 24
th ranked team in the nation. They did so on behalf of an aggressive offensive approach which was highlighted during the 22
nd minute by
Jenezza Sandoval who connected on a header goal off a
Shelby McBain corner kick. This goal proved to be the only one of the match. ASU was outshot by a 9-8 margin in the first half but it was the Grizzlies who held onto the lead via Sandoval's header.
In the second half, the Rangers were unable to take advantage of the opportunities that were presented to them. They outshot the Grizzlies again in the second half, by an 8-2 margin but the Rangers were unable to get the ball past the defense of Grizzly goalkeeper
Molly O'Connor, who once again had another clean sheet appearance--her second in a row. In 90 minutes of play, O'Connor had two saves with no goals allowed. With the win, the Grizzlies continue their late season push for an appearance in the RMAC Tournament.
Adams State University will host Colorado Christian University on Oct. 31, on Senior Day.
