Individual ResultsDENVER (November 22, 2014) –
Kevin Batt and
Tabor Stevens finished first and second to help the Adams State University men's cross country team capture first place at the South Central Region Championships on Saturday morning.
The Grizzlies tallied 38 points to edge the Colorado School of Mines by three points. ASU ended the day with a total time of 2:41:15.
Batt and Stevens concluded the day for a photo finish as both registered times of 31:45 in the 10K race.
Jack Espeset and
Matt Daniels also finished in the top ten of the 138 runner field. Espeset took seventh in 32:18 with Daniels following closely for eighth at 32:19.
Chad Palmer crossed the finish line in 33:10 for 20
th as
Dominic Cabada and
Jackson Sayler took 28
th and 30
th, respectively.
The win is the program's seventh consecutive regional title and tenth overall under head coach
Damon Martin. The Grizzlies placement atop the standings guarantees them a spot at the NCAA Division II National Cross Country Championships in Louisville, Ky. on Dec. 6
th.
Batt, Stevens, Espeset, Daniels, and Palmer were named to the USTFCCCA All-Region team by placing in the top 25. A complete list of the USTFCCCA All-Region team is listed below.
