ALAMOSA, Colo. (December 4, 2014) – With an unblemished 3-0 record in regular season non-conference play, the Adams State University men's basketball team now shifts to Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) bouts. The conference slate begins Friday (12/5) at Colorado State University-Pueblo followed by a Saturday (12/6) meeting at the #8 University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Both games are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. MT

Last Time Out For GrizzliesIt was a banner night for Adams State with a 111-68 win over the visiting Northern New Mexico College Eagles on Nov. 25. Six Grizzlies finished in double figures as the win was scattered with notable program feats.

The 43-point lead was the team's largest margin of victory since a 125-80 win over Portland Bible College in Alamosa on 11/9/13. In the win over the Eagles, Adams State posted an impressive 81 bench points, 44 points in the paint, and 38 points off turnovers.
Travante Williams led all players with a game-high 20 points and seven assists. The junior shot 8-12 from the field and 2-4 from three. In the program's three wins over NAIA institutions (Northwest Christian, Langston University, & Northern New Mexico), the Grizzlies held a +26.3 scoring margin.
About The ThunderWolvesCSU-Pueblo carries a 3-2 record entering Friday's game with ASU. After a 3-0 start the ThunderWolves have fallen to West Texas A&M and Midwestern State on the road. After averaging 97.3 points per game during wins, the ThunderWolves dropped significantly to averaging 61.5 points per game in their two losses. The team is led by guard Rico Spikes and post players Bronson Moton and Tyrone Marshall. CSU-Pueblo is under the direction of fourth year head coach, Ralph Turner. Friday's game will serve as the team's conference opener.
About The Mountain LionsAs the eighth-ranked team in NCAA Division II, UCCS has stomped out to a 6-0 start. The Mountain Lions and Grizzlies have shared a common opponent in Northern New Mexico College. Against NNMC, the Mountain Lions posted a 98-52 win on Nov. 21. Guard Derrick White and forward Alex Welsh lead the way with 20.8 ppg. and 15.5 ppg, respectively. White's offensive scoring production ranks fourth amongst all conference players. The team is coached by Jeff Culver who is in his second season with the program.
Last We MetThe Grizzlies dropped both contests with CSU-Pueblo last season. Their most recent meeting came on 2/15/14 in Pueblo. Adams State lost 95-76 as the ThunderWolves controlled the tempo and possessed a double digit lead less than three minutes into the game.
Juwan Buchanan led the Grizzlies with 22 points and 9 rebounds in defeat.
Adams State went 0-3 against UCCS during 2013-14. All three games were decided by four points or less with each team scoring 80 or more points in each affair. UCCS ended ASU's season a year ago during the first round of the RMAC Shootout. The Mountain Lions escaped with an 87-85 victory after the Grizzlies mounted a comeback and tied the game with 10 seconds remaining. However, a pair of free throws with one second remaining made the difference for UCCS.
Adam State's last win over UCCS was at home on 2/15/13 by way of a 78-64 score. The Grizzlies last defeated the ThunderWolves 77-73 in overtime on 11/30/12 from Pueblo.
