ALAMOSA, Colo. (October 7, 2015) – The Adams State University men's soccer team faced a similar foe on Wednesday for a rare non-conference game. The Grizzlies faced off with the Fort Lewis College Skyhawks (8-3, 4-1 RMAC) from the ASU Soccer Field.
The Grizzlies (1-8-1, 1-3-1 RMAC) put all their players in heavy rotation with alternates seeing plenty of game time. They even split goalkeeping duties between both
Caleb Baumgartner and
Austin Baumeister with both seeing 45 minutes of play. Baumeister tallied two saves while Baumgartner totaled four.
However, all of the scoring was done by Fort Lewis in a 3-0 affair. The Skyhawks fired off 22 shots with 9 on goal. The Skyhawks took a lead 11 minutes in with a goal by Martin Lopez. Coleman Kane added a goal 30 minutes later making it 2-0 in the first half. Andres Lopez added on some icing in the 81
st minute to bring the affair to its 3-0 conclusion.
ASU was unable to generate a lot of scoring opportunities letting off six shots while two were on goal. Grizzly
Nick Webb showed off some accuracy accounting for both of Adam State's shots on target.
