ALAMOSA, Colo. (December 11, 2015)— The Adams State University Grizzlies women's basketball team lost this evening in their Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) matchup against the visiting Colorado Christian University Cougars by a score of 73-41.
The Grizzlies (1-4, 0-2 RMAC) have now lost two consecutive conference games. ASU struggled trying to find a defensive answer to the Cougar's offensive triple-threat attack of Alex Nelson, Claire Paxton, and Ali Meyer. Each player scored in double-digit margins while Nelson, led the team with 14 points scored.
Offensively the Grizzlies were led by
Cydney McHenry who scored 10 points in tonight's affair from 2-6 shooting, and a perfect 6-6 from the charity stripe tonight.
DeShea Wilkes chipped in with eight points coming off the bench.
For the game the Green and White converted only 21.4 percent (12-56) of their shots compared to the Cougars 51.9 percent (28-54). Behind the three point line the Cougars were dominant, converting 38.1 percent (8-21) on three-point shots. In the second half alone, CCU converted half of every shot taken from field. In comparison, the Grizzlies converted a 12.5 percent (2-16) conversion rate on three-point shots.
