Box Score ALAMOSA, Colo. (September 12. 2015)--- In what was a game that was full of excitement, the Adams State University Grizzlies women's soccer team finished in a 2-2 draw with the Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaps this afternoon at the ASU Soccer complex.
The first half saw the Grizzlies get the first shot with
Sloan Foster trying to get Adams State on the board first. However, 32:52 into the first, The Lady Chaps found the back of the net. Not to be outdone, the Grizzlies struck back two minutes later with
Natalie Wheelock tying the game up off of a header that was set up by Foster. The game would remain at a 1-1 draw heading into halftime.
The second half would start out with Adams State getting a foul, but the Lady Chaps were unable to capitalize off of their corner kick.
Dezirae Armijo would become a threat with two corner kicks and a shot all within two minutes of each other.
Lacey Daniel would be the next Grizzly to find the net late in the second half to once again put the Grizzlies and the Lady Chaps in a draw, which would bring the game to two overtimes.
The first over time would see the score stay the same. However, the second overtime would bring about some controversy. Adams State's Armijo would find the net off of an assist by
Shelby McBain, but the goal would be disallowed due to a non call. The game would end in a 2-2 draw.
Adams State will take to the pitch for a conference match up against New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, N.M. on Friday, September 18
