CHADRON, Neb. (January 22, 2016) -- The Adams State University Grizzlies traveled to Nebraska for a dual against RMAC foe Chadron State College on Friday night. Unfortunately for the Grizzlies, it was a trip that ended with a close 25-19 loss.
Martin Ramirez was the star for the night, earning a pin over his opponent.

At 125,
Ian Wingstrom got the Grizzlies off to a good start, earning a 3-0 shutout victory over Brandon Kile.

In the 133 pound weight class,
Martin Ramirez earned the aforementioned pin over Taylor Summers.

It was a rough dual for 141 pounder Zach Mahaney along with
Devin Vasquez in the 149 pound weight class. Mahaney suffered a second period tech fall to Joshua Miller as Vasquez was dealt a quick loss via a pin in the first period to Terrance McKinney.

At 165,
Koery Windham was dealt a 4-2 loss by Chance Helmick.

The duo of Joe and Richard Bencomo both won their matches by close decisions in the 184 and 197 pound weight classes, respectively.

At 285,
Tuli Laulu finished strong with a 10-1 major decision over Cooper Cogdill.

The Grizzlies will be back on the mat Friday, January 29 in Pueblo as they face Colorado State University-Pueblo at 6pm.
