PUEBLO, Colo. (January 29, 2016) -- Adams State University traveled east to face conference rival Colorado State University-Pueblo on Friday night. Unfortunately, the Grizzlies came out of the contest on the wrong end by falling, 32-14. Highlighting ASU's efforts was
Martin Ramirez with a convincing 16-0 tech fall.

Ian Wingstrom continued his strong season at 125 with an 8-2 decision over Adellmo Salazar.

At 133, Ramirez followed with his sixth tech fall of the season via a 16-0 romping over Sam Hughes.

It was the exact opposite for
Joshua Salas at 141 who lost with a 16-1 tech fall to Kyle Fantin.

In the 149 pound weight class,
Devin Vasquez suffered a first round pin to Tim Urenda at the 1:12 mark.

Koery Windham gave a good performance at 165 but lost in a tough 5-4 decision to Kyle Bateman.

Joe Bencomo pulled out a win at 184 over Joshua Castellano, 11-5. After a slow start, Bencomo came alive to gather 9 of his 11 points after the opening period.

Richard Bencomo kept momentum in ASU's favor by following with a strong performance to beat Jakob Lund, 5-0, at 197.

It was a difficult, and short, night for
Tuli Laulu at 285. Laulu suffered a first round pin to Jacob Mitchell at the 0:52 mark.

With no one to wrestle in the 157 and 174 pound weight classes, the Grizzlies were forced to forfeit those matches.

The Grizzlies will be back on the mat January 31
st for the RMAC Championships in Colorado Springs. The all-day championship begins at 9am at the United States Olympic Complex.Â
