WSOC | Grizzlies snap losing streak, down Mountain Lions

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (October 2nd, 2016)—The Adams State University women's soccer team traveled to the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs to take on the Mountain Lions earlier Sunday. The Grizzlies were able to get back into the win column with a 2-0 win.  Sunday's win also saw Adams State snap their three-game losing streak.

The first period saw both teams held scoreless, with UCCS awarded two yellow cards in the twenty-first minute and in the fortieth minute of play.

Lacey Daniel struck first with her goal off of an assist by Shelby McBain. Daniel's goal was a header that came in the fifty-ninth minute of play. This was also her fourth goal on the season.

Hope Cruz nabbed her first goal of the season in the eightieth minute of play, off of an assist by Abby Rasmussen, to seal the deal for the Grizzlies.

Grizzly goalkeeper, Teagan Moore ended the day with ten saves, and recorded her fourth shut out win of the season thus far.

Adams State returns home on September 9th, as they host the Black Hills State University Yellow Jackets. The game is slated for a 1:00 p.m. start and live stats and video will be available for fans via www.asugrizzlies.com.
