ALAMOSA, Colo. (October 9th, 2016)—Five different Grizzlies chipped in to give Adams State their largest win of the season, as they downed the Black Hills State University Yellowjackets 5-0. The game also saw Adams State finish with thirty-five shots, which is the fourth highest amount of shots for the team. The Grizzlies tallied a team high of forty-one shots against Colorado Christian University on October 24
th, 2004.
Arin Seidlitz struck first with her goal, assisted by
Shelby McBain, in the twenty-fifth minute of play. This goal was Seidlitz' second goal of the season.
McBain would assist the second goal, which came from
Natalie Wheelock in the thirty-second minute of play. Wheelock's goal was her third for the season.
The Grizzlies would enter the half up 2-0 over Black Hills State.
The third quarter saw
Hope Cruz find the back of the Yellowjacket net with her goal in the fiftieth minute of play. Cruz was assisted by
Sloan Foster, whose assist helped Cruz tally her third goal of the season.
Daisy Perez would get her turn to score in the fifty-sixth minute of play, off of an assist by Grizzly goalkeeper,
Teagan Moore. Moore's assist would help Perez net her third goal of the season.
Lourdes Padilla would net her first goal of the season, off of an assist by Cruz. Padilla's goal was a header in the sixty-first minute of play.
Moore would finish the day with just one save, and her fifth shut out win of the season.
The Grizzlies travel to Salt Lake City, Utah on October 14
th to start a three-game road trip that sees Adams State take on the Colorado Mesa University Mavericks, and the Fort Lewis College Skyhawks.
