ALAMOSA, Colo. (October 21
st, 2016) --- An early penalty kick was all it took for the Colorado School of Mines to secure a 1-0 win over Adams State.
Only 7:33 in to the game, the Orediggers were awarded a penalty kick, in which they capitalized. That would be the only score of the game as CSM fended off the Grizzlies for the rest of the game for a 1-0 victory.
Coach Bentley had this to say: "We all are walking away very frustrated with this result. We created some great chances and played good soccer on the day but we weren't clinical enough in our finishing so this result is difficult to accept. We still have three opportunities to put a positive note to the season and we fully expect to get it done."
The loss drops ASU to 5-10 on the season. The win puts CSMÂ at 8-4.
The Grizzlies return to the ASU soccer field for their final home game this Sunday where seniors will be honored for senior day at 1:00pm against Colorado Christian.
