ALAMOSA, Colo. (October 28th, 2016)—The Adams State University Grizzlies women's soccer team hosted the Colorado Christian University Cougars earlier Friday, as the Grizzlies look to clinch a spot in the post season. Unfortunately a late goal by CCU saw the Grizzlies fall 1-0.
The first half of play saw both teams locked in a 0-0 draw, with both Adams State and the Cougars playing a tight game offensively and defensively.
Colorado Christian would get the lone goal of the contest late in the second, in the seventy-second minute.
Shelby McBain would tally three shots in Friday's contest. McBain also leads the team in points, with eleven. Teammates
Hope Cruz, and
Lourdes Padilla chipped in with a shot a piece.
Grizzly goalkeeper,
Teagan Moore, ended the day with three saves.
With the loss, Adams State falls to 7-7-1 (4-6-1 RMAC) on the season. The Grizzlies look to wrap up their regular season on October 30
th, as they host the Colorado School of Mines. The game also doubles as Senior Day, so fans are encouraged to come celebrate the Grizzly seniors.
