ALAMOSA, Colo. (November 14th, 2016) – The Adams State University women's basketball team travels to Española, New Mexico for a rematch with Northern New Mexico College on Wednesday at 7:00pm.

The Grizzlies were in Wichita Falls, Texas last weekend for the Ashbrook Classic. On Friday the team was defeated 55-72 by Midwestern State. ASU was also beaten 46-57 by Texas Woman's University on Saturday.
Cydney McHenry was named to the All-Tournament team recording 17 points over the 2 games.
About Northern New Mexico College:
The Eagles compete at the NAIA level and do not belong to a conference, competing as an independent within the Association of Independent Institutions. The school is located in Española, New Mexico which is 25 miles north of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Their athletic department opened up in 2005 and launched women's basketball in 2009.
The Eagles come in to the game at 4-2. Most recently NNMC was victorious over the University of the Southwest 72-57. The Eagles have played against 2 other RMAC schools this season, losing to Metro State 53-78 (exhibition) and to Regis 50-82. The team is 2-0 at home.
Previous Meeting: The Grizzlies and Eagles matched up last 12 days ago in Alamosa. The Grizzlies were unable to keep pace with the Eagles as they fell behind 24-10 early in the second period. Later in the same period, a
Cydney McHenry three pointer cut the deficit to 5 and there was a glimmer hope. Unfortunately, that was as close as ASU would get, as they would go on to lose by 28 points. The Grizzlies shot 24.2 percent from the field as the Eagles shot 44.4 percent. The Eagles relied heavily on the deep ball by shooting 8-of-22 on three pointers. Northern New Mexico also held the edge on the boards by a 52-38 margin.
Looking Ahead: Next up, the Grizzlies hit the road for a pair of exhibition games against Wyoming and Colorado State. Those games will be on November 22
nd at 6:30pm, and November 23
rd at 2:30pm respectively.
