LAKEWOOD, Colo. (December 30th, 2016) --- The Adams State women's basketball team were soundly beaten on the road by a punishing 39-78 score at Colorado Christian tonight.

The Cougars opened up the game on a 6-0 run before
Lauren McDonald was able to get Adams on the board with a nice layup.
Angelica Wall would later hit a 3 to cut the lead to only 3. Afterwards, CCU would break away with an 11-5 run to end the first period. Down only 13-21 entering the second, the Cougars asserted their dominance. Colorado Christian would lead by a commanding 21 point lead entering halftime.

It would only get worse for Adams in the third period as the Cougars increased their lead to 33. The lead would grow even more in the fourth, reaching over 40 points at times. Colorado Christian would wrap it up at the final horn 78-39.

CCU had five players reach double digits, and another had 9. Alex Nelson had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. The Cougars dominated on defense with their 7 blocks. Offensively, the opponents made over half of their field goals, shooting 55.3%.
Cydney McHenry led the Grizzlies with 9 points and 2 assists. Â

The team will finish up the 2016 calendar on the road against Chadron State on December 31
